The details that make the experience: inspiration from The Glamping Show 2026

Sometimes it’s the smallest details that leave the biggest impression.

A visit to The Glamping Show 2026 at Stoneleigh gave us plenty to think about. With businesses from across glamping, outdoor hospitality and experiential accommodation all in one place, it was a great opportunity to see new ideas, discover different approaches and hear from people working across the industry.

But what caught our attention most wasn’t necessarily the biggest or boldest thing on display. It was the detail.

It’s about more than four walls

At Moon Haus, we believe creating a memorable place to stay is about far more than the building itself. The materials you touch. The lighting as evening falls. The door furniture. The textures and finishes. A bath positioned to make the most of a view. An outdoor fire that becomes somewhere to sit long after the sun has gone down.

These may seem like small decisions, but together they influence how a space looks, feels and, most importantly, how guests experience it.

Designing the whole guest experience

One of our biggest takeaways was the importance of looking beyond the accommodation itself.

A guest’s experience starts before they walk through the door. It begins with the setting, the approach and that first impression.

For hotels, wedding venues, estates, farms and landowners considering adding accommodation, we think that presents an exciting opportunity.

Rather than starting with “What can we put here?”, perhaps the better question is:

“What experience could we create here?”

Once you start there, decisions around the space, materials, interiors, outdoor areas and landscape have a purpose. Inspiration is everywhere

Shows like this are a chance to look closely. We came away with photographs of materials, finishes, interiors and outdoor details that made us stop, some because they were beautiful, others because they made us think differently.

It isn't about copying an idea. It's about noticing what works, asking why it works and allowing that inspiration to spark something new.

That is particularly relevant to Moon Haus because we don't believe every location should be given the same answer. The setting matters. The customer matters. And the experience you want to create matters.

Taking the ideas back to Moon Haus

We're taking plenty of inspiration away from Stoneleigh, not just for the spaces we're developing, but for the conversations we're having with hospitality businesses and landowners about what's possible. Because ultimately, the building is only part of it.

It’s about more than four walls. It’s part of the experience.
